The key to any association is the people that make up the network. From lawyers and banking professionals, to commercial cannabis business owners and all who fall in between, we are proud of the diverse and expanding network of professionals and experts who are our members. To show our appreciation for the exceptional individuals in our community, we are highlighting ACCCE member Eric Schneider this week. Please reach out and connect with him here!

Eric Schneider is VP at AlphaRoot, a full service insurance brokerage that focuses on building customized risk management solutions for the commercial cannabis Industry through a streamlined digital platform. Though AlphaRoot is a tech-enabled brokerage, their clients work with real humans to get their company covered. Eric attended Johns Hopkins University where he received a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree in marketing, and an MBA. Go Jays!

Eric is involved in a team of industry veterans with long-standing relationships in the cannabis and agriculture insurance space. The team’s unique expertise provides tailored coverage and access to preferred insurance markets and their fully digital process makes it intuitive and easy to purchase insurance. Eric was working for an insurance brokerage Founder Shield that builds out insurance programs for emerging industries when cannabis fell naturally into their scope. About five years ago, Eric rolled out AlphaRoot as a separate, wholly owned subsidiary to cater to the commercial cannabis industry specifically. To say the least, AlphaRoot is fortunate to have Eric as a part of their team.

Eric first heard about the Association of Certified Commercial Cannabis Experts through a friend in the commercial cannabis industry and is currently studying to become an ACCCE Certified Commercial Cannabis Expert (CCCE). Eric shared that “ACCCE offers a wealth of knowledge and information that helps my team in our day to day operations.” Eric also plans to integrate ACCCE’s risk management principles and best practices into AlphaRoot’s customer service for prospective and current clients because risk management and insurance (risk transfer) is just one aspect of what AlphaRoot does to help mitigate risk for their clients.

Eric is engaged and plans to tie the knot in August of 2021. (Editor’s note: Congrats, Eric!) He grew up in Long Island, went to school in Baltimore, and then came back to live in New York City, where he currently resides. He loves New York City because the energy is unmatched and there’s always something to do! Eric is most passionate about lacrosse, having played it at Johns Hopkins, but also has a great love for food and traveling to new places to experience the cuisine. In his free time, Eric loves to fish, work out, and play sports, and enjoys cooking to wind down after a long day. To top it all off, Eric can juggle!

ACCCE is proud to have an esteemed member like Eric Schneider as a part of our association. As our community continues to grow, we find it important to thank our members for their commitment to professionalizing the commercial cannabis industry. Thank you, Eric, for being such an important part of the cannabis community. Together, we are a part of something great.
