What are the different types of certification?

ACCCE currently offers two certifications: The Certified Commercial Cannabis Expert (“CCCE”) and the Certified Commercial Cannabis Professional (“CCCP”) Certification.

Can I earn my certification without being a member?

To obtain certification, you must be a member of ACCCE.

Please register for your membership and certification.

Can I add certification to my existing membership?

Yes, you may add on certification to your existing membership at any time via the member dashboard. However, you can save by bundling and purchasing membership and certification together!

How do I become certified?

To become certified, you will need to demonstrate proficiency on the various topics detailed in the Commercial Cannabis Handbook.

To demonstrate your grasp of the concepts, you must achieve a score of 80% on the exam.

How long is the certification valid?

Your certification will remain valid as long as your membership stays in good standing and you complete the required continuing education credits.

How are ACCCE’s certifications different from other cannabis certifications?

ACCCE’s Certified Commercial Cannabis certification is the only international certification currently available for cannabis risk management.

Where do I take the CCCE or CCCP examination?

The CCCE and CCCP examinations are taken online at a time that is convenient to you.  It can be accessed through the member dashboard.

Who was involved in the development of the Commercial Cannabis Handbook?

ACCCE drew on its network of commercial cannabis experts in risk management during the development of the Commercial Cannabis Handbook. In addition, ACCCE’s educational advisory board, which includes commercial cannabis risk management experts from a variety of professional backgrounds, reviews and approves the Commercial Cannabis Handbook.

Why should I become a Certified Commercial Cannabis Professional (“CCCP”)?

Certification from ACCCE demonstrates to employers, clients, and others in the commercial cannabis industry that you have an understanding of the commercial cannabis industry and how to manage its unique risks.

Are there any eligibility requirements to become a Certified Commercial Cannabis Professional?

Anyone can take the CCCP certification. Members do not need to demonstrate prior risk, compliance, or cannabis related experience.

How much does it cost to become a Certified Commercial Cannabis Professional (“CCCP”)?

The CCCP certification costs $600 when adding on to an existing membership. However, you can save by bundling and purchasing membership and CCCP certification together!

What are continuing education requirements for the CCCP?

To maintain certification, members will be required to earn continuing education credits. Continuing education requirements allows ACCCE to ensure that certified members are up to date and informed on the latest industry developments. After earning the CCCP certification, members will be required to keep their membership active and spend a minimum of 10 hours per year pursuing continuing education credits from ACCCE or a similar association.

Continuing Education (CE) will not be required to maintain the CCCE or CCCP until 2024 as ACCCE expands its resources and alliance memberships to provide certified members a larger collection of opportunities. ACCCE provides evidence of CE for members and non-members that attend our webinars, community events, tailored training, and other educational items to demonstrate your CE for regulators or concerned parties.
